3:25pm: another cheap shot at corporate america
It's this kind of stuff that makes me want to rip the tags off of all my clothing and move to the mountains.

It seems like 80% of the girls at my school are exactly the same. They walk down the hallway in their Abercrombie© "Surf" tee shirts and their Hollister© Low rise "Sunbleached" jeans, talking to their friends about who's dating who this week, or the latest Fitty Cent© song; shaking their "Sunbleached" blonde hair all around, seeing who notices them. At lunch or the mall drinking a Vanilla Coke© and eating a low-fat Butterfinger©. Going to the movies with thier "bffls" to see Crossroads© or with their "boyfriends" to see The Matrix©. Neeeeeever ever before have so many product names become a part of everyday life. It matters what brand of shoes you wear, and even what brand of water you drink.
This is a society that, by the age of eight, little girls are dancing around to Britany Spears© songs, with their little midrifs exposed. This is a society where no one loves the little chubby brunette with the glasses, and she grows up thinking she's fat only to become anorexic and/or commit suicide before the age of 16. This is a society in which The Dork isn't happy, The Loner isn't happy, The Smart Kid isn't happy, and The Popular kid is happy, but only occasionally.
This is a society where something as "rude" and "outrageous" as 'punk rock' is being put through the trend grinder. You can walk into Claire's© now and find some "cool" "punk" stuff. If you go back to how that started, it was because 'punk rock' was "rude" and "outrageous" that the chubby little brunette with glasses found it as a new outlet, a way to beat the "Cool Kids" and stay happy. It's the idea of unpopularity that's becoming so popular. And when that 15 minutes of fame is over, where will it leave the kids who came to it as an outlet to escape the Personal Hell that the "Cool Kids" put them through?
Our society is steadily going faster and faster down hill. Where will this leave us kids that refuse to believe everything that this culture stuffs down our throats? Our world is quickly becoming a product name.
